Jordan Engineering follows a set formula each year for divvying up its profits. One third is doled out to employees through profit sharing, another third goes back to the company to help fuel future growth and the final third supports charitable work.
Most recently, Murre pledged $250,000 on her company's behalf toward the new Niagara West YMCA under construction in Grimsby. Janet St. Amand, a vice-president at the Y, says Murre's commitment to the community and to healthy living is an inspiration to others.
